Classical Book
AP1 | FA22
For this project, at The University of Missouri - we were tasked to create a classical book based on Trevor Noah's, Born a Crime. To accompany his texts, we were to find additional source material - either a publication or an author. I chose Charles Bukowski, a dark humorist, to juxtapose Noah's optimism and positive outlook on life. Despite having similar childhoods, Bukowski's dry disposition and zest for solitude connect to Noah's positive outlook with sobering effects. Regardless of their similar upbringings, they differ in wants and desires in life. I titled the collection, A Race of the Rats.
To accompany the handmade typeface from an earlier project are newly created illustrations to fill the gaps and pages.
