Acuta Type Specimen Book

Project: To create a type specimen book for the typeface Acuta.
Solution: This typeface is an all-purpose text serif with a good readability and a contemporary, robust look. It was created by Elena Albertoni in 2010 through her own foundry, Anatoletype. Elena specializes in hand-lettering, sign painting, typography and calligraphy. She designed Acuta to have a hand-written feel. After researching and learning about the origin and purpose of Acuta, I decided to play off the idea of hand-lettering intersecting with digital design and named it "Pen & Pixel". The cover image showcases ink blots represented by a glyph and squares for pixel.
